This is the true story as I remember it...

“JUS”

I remember being this big time stud at Springstowne Junior High. You know, the BIG MAN ON CAMPUS, the guy everyone wants to be like, the guy with a long braided rat tail coming out the back of his head, tapered jeans and a starter jacket on. Yeah, that guy.

I was a D.J., I was editor of the yearbook, yummies mad jocked and haters bad talked. But I was “JUS”…

“Meeting Marv.”

Anyway, I think I met Marv first. He worked in the school office as an assistant; I think it was one of his electives or something, it was that and Band (NERD ALERT!). Anyway, I used to cut school a lot, so I would have to get slips to get back into class. I used to threaten Marv with physical beat downs if he did not issue me one, and of course he complied.

“Meeting Lou.”

I met Lou in Gym Class. I thought he was one of those Special Ed kids that every class is required to have. I wanted to kick his ass at the time because he was a dork and well, that's what “STUDS” like me did in those days. Actually, it was because Lou, by some powerful will from GOD, was able to land this one chick I had a MAD CRUSH on. What really upset me, was he dumped her for another chick that was not even close to this one!!! I think I still want to kick his ass for doing that!

“Meeting Susim.”

I met Su by playing him one on one in basketball. I was rated the #1 Filipino Basketball player in the school at the time. This mutual friend of ours, who could have been with us today had Su not totally destroyed their friendship, told me there was this new Filipino kid that is tearing up the courts. I said, “BRING HIM TO ME”. The game was set-up, I had to tell one of my many hoes that I had to go play this kid and that I'll be back in no time. I got to the courts and….

“THE REBELS”

When the four of us got to Hogan High in 1990, this is when we really bonded. I was tired of living that “Gangsta” life. I wanted to be free from that; I wanted to be, I guess you can say “Mediocre”. Marv, Su and I ended up having History class together and I think a few other classes, I think they call them the remedial courses. Anyway, I was seeing these guys a little more than I did in Junior High. I used to rap and make these home made rap tapes. Marv became and instant fan and was always bugging me to have my latest track. Anyway, the mutual friend all of us had, the one who could have been with us today had Su not totally destroyed their friendship, had put together an all Filipino basketball team, Marv, Su, and Lou were already on it. I guess they had played some team and got their asses handed to them. Well, low and behold, who gets asked to join the team? Yeah, that's right. Jus.

When I joined the team and basically became the “Captain”, the “Leader” the “Franchise”, we started to practice a lot and so Marv, Su, Lou and I started to hang out a lot more. We christened the team the “REBELS” and became one of the BADDEST squads in Vallejo , Cali (Please note, we never played a team of all “brothers” aka all African-Americans). Through ball though, we found out not only did we have chemistry on the court but off it.

“Meeting Aris.”

A year later, we were blessed with this new kid. Aris Flores. He was Su's ex-girl's, baby brother. I think Aris was sent as the “COCK BLOCK” on dates when Su and Aris's sister would go out. Anyway, Su brought Aris to one of our backyard hoop sessions and he has been with us ever since. Aris is actually a grade lower than us, but I think he is older than all of us. It has something to do with the transition he was dealt when he escaped to the USA from the jungles of Nabotas , Philippines …

It was like clock work, every Friday at Marv' house after school, in his backyard hoop court. Playing 21 or three on three for five hours straight, then Marv's parents would feed us and we would sit at the kitchen table, eating and talking and eventually getting yelled at by Marv's grandpa for acting like a bunch of JACK ASSES at the dinner table…

“Birth of the C.M.B”

One day in English class, and I just spent the weekend watching “NEW JACK CITY”, I was talking with Su. I said our “Crew” needs a name. The five of us, Marv, Su, Lou, Aris and I had started to become really close, some of us too close as I had to repeatedly say, “No, I do not swing that way, fella...” Any hoot, our Rebels basketball team was beating everybody (Again, please note, we never played a full team of all “brothers” aka all African-Americans). I said, Su, I'm going to call us “C.M.B”. “What does that stand for?” Su said, with a childish grin. “Cash. Money. B?, um, what can the B stand for?” I replied. So for the next few minutes, Su and I looked at each other as if we had only four minutes to save the world. “I got it!” I exclaimed, as Su's eyes widened, and the hair flapped from the giant mole on his chin that he used to have before having it surgically removed and donated to science, “What is it? Oh great one?” Su said.

I looked at Su, and I said; “C.M.B, CASH, MONEY, BAUMBARAWS”. Su, being a former geek before he earned cool points by being my boy, looked as if he just discovered that pulling on your penis for 15 seconds, will make you feel nice and numb for 15 minutes. “You're a genius, Jus.” he said, “but what does BAUMBARAW mean?” I looked at Su, and with my trademark, calm, cool and collective manner, I said, “It means, A BONDING FRIENDSHIP…” ( Hey, it sounds cool, and I didn't want to say “Brothers”, because I don't think we have enough “Street Cred” to pull it off like the “Brothers”).

“Meeting Pinlac.”

Wish I didn't. End of Story...

“C.M.B 5”

It's almost 20 years later and C.M.B is still stronger (a little heavier) than ever. We have been through so much as a crew that we are not even really a crew anymore, but we are now family. When I see old classmates around and they ask me, “Do you ever see anyone from back in the day?” I say; “Yeah, Marv, Su, Lou, Aris.” Of course we have had rocky times, but what family doesn't? We have gone through relationships and lost loved ones. We have started our own families gotten married and furthered our careers. As the leader of the C.M.B (Sorry Pinlac) I have never forgotten how we all came to be. I heard once, that if you can't judge the character of a man, then look at his friends.

I will always love the C.M.B crew. (FEE-GOT!)

"THE CMB SHOW"

The genius of The CMB Show is that what you hear, is exactly how we have always been around each other. Trash talking, bad mouthing people, comparing which celebrity chick we would love to give the "Meat Rocket" too, jeez come to think about it, the fun never ends with us. The CMB 5 have the ability to take each crew members jokes as what they really are...just jokes. My idea to take what we have in a car ride or just hanging out together and put it out there for the world to listen to and enjoy was a no brainer. We are doing what we do best, being BUFFOONS...

The good thing is that it's never personal with us 5, and it's how we've always been. I can't imagine or even fathom any of us saying " Hey, do you think one day, we could just be nice to one another?"

Why? Because then, we wouldn't be THE CMB.

- JUSDOT / C.M.B 1 / aka EL PRESEDENTE'

I remember moving to VALLEJO in 9th grade IN 1990 and meeting a litlle MIDGET BY THE NAME OF LOU  in spanish class. he, I , and JUDY WANG had the time of our lives laughin in front of MRS. CHANDLER. LOU was a tiny little thing and when i met him i felt like i was in 3rd grade again. Wherever we went, people would ask why my little borther was with me. I had to constantly tell them lou was almost a man. I was always playin ball at lunch time and that's where i met the BIGGEST PAIR OF EYEBROWS IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND......

MARVIN DEGUZMAN...... he was boys with LOU and i used MY lunch time to ball on MARV like JORDAN would ball on a lil school girl.  MARV was slow had no offense a lil bit of defense and liked to slap guys butts. Basically, a summary of his basketball game was the same as his dating game.  THOUGH MARV WAS QUIET, HE QUICKLY BECAME A VERY GOOD FRIEND. HE STILL THANKS ME TILL THIS DAY FOR MY GENEROSITY. Next i met OUR  supposedly FEARLESS LEADER..........

JUSTIN EVANGELISTA......A COOL SKINNY DUDE ON SCHOOL CAMPUS..... all he did was hang out and hold his girlfriend at lunch. Lookin like a LITTLE BUSTER. We finally broke him free from his lady so i could WHOOP HIS ASS in hoops. I SAW THE AWE IN HIS FACE WHEN WHEN I FLOATED RIGHT BY HIM ON MY WAY TO THE HOOP. HE GOT SMART AND DECIDED TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO PLAY ON A TEAM WITH ME.  And that's where the dream of starting the REBELS BASKETBALL TEAM came to be.

JUS, MARV, AND LOU all figured that they needed a superstar to make their B-BALL WINNING DREAMS come true. so they quickly scooped me off to the courts and into FRIENDSHIP FOR LIFE. (THE CMB).  Later on i met a girl named ROSE who became my girlfriend. and that's when i ran into her tiny little runt of a brother (who would have thought he would turn out to be 6 times bigger at the age of 30).........

His name was ARIS FLORES. I  remember this SKINNY FOB who thought he had style and no matter how hard he tried, just looked a BROKE ASS FILIPINO VANILLA ICE with his black vanilla ice shoes he wore to school everyday. GREAT GUY but i could never UNDERSTAND what he said, so just gave him that ever popular courtesy smile and let him tag along. AND at this time ARIS not only bacame a part of the REBELS, but even more important became part of what has come to be know as the C.M.B.

What is the C.M.B. you ask? Well it's just about the Hardest, Strongest, Funniest, Most Handsome, Talented, Attractive, Charasmatic, Wittiest  Guy (me ...aka JASON ...aka THE CHOSEN ONE) in a group of friends w/ 4 others). They are JUSDOT, MARVY MARV, LOU FROM DA U, AND MR. PAREE. Our friendship is special because no matter what thru the years, we've STAYED together thru THICK AND THIN. How many people out there can say that?????  All we do is TALK SHIT to each other BUT mostly about OTHERS. I CANT EVEN RECALL how many times i've been on my back ROLLIN or how many time i've CACKLED LIKE A HYENA. WITH THESE FOOLS.

FAST FORWARD TO THE FUTURE......The day LOU'S CHILD was born on January 31 2008, so was the idea of the CMB SHOW. Justin said, "if we can, take Jason's GENIUS for producing, and come up with A podcast show to make people laugh, maybe the rest of us, if LUCKY enough, CAN be in his shadow and maybe WE CAN get our SHINE on IN THE FUTURE through his wonderful talents." immediatley they all said "HELL YEAHHHHH"!!!!!! THE REST IS PODCAST HISTORY......atleast that's how i recall it goin down.

JASON SUSIM..aks "SU"...aka THE CHOSEN ONE

I do recall a different version on how I met those FAGGOTS!

Straight from:  Nabotas Philippines , "The Story V2.0" by Aris Flores

"The making of Aris Flores"

Born and raised in the Philippines until I was 8yrs old, where I learned how to swim like a fish and dive like Michael Phelps.  Also, moms had a restaurant in the P.I. where I learned and help cook at an early age.  Martin Yan aka Yan Can Cook was my Hero!  I spent the last year with my grandparents before I was "shipped" to the US , Amerika here I kum na!

"When I first laid eyes on Jason Susim aka The Chosen One"

The title sounded gay for a reason because of the first impression I saw when I first Met, "The Chosen One"!  His hair, his voice and even his big ass Mole above the Right chin screamed gayness!   He came to the house all nice and polite and respectful, I just thought he was either slow or scared of my dad.  Whatever the case, he stuck around long enough for us to get to know him.  They waited while I got ready for school, which made them late for class but he deserves it, he was dating my sister!  That was my sister's choosing and the reason for me meeting the rest of the CMB Faggots (except Fatlac).  As I recall, I was invited to  play basketball at Glen Cove Elementary with him and my sister for a shoot around and That was when I was introduced to………….

"The 3rd grader who was actually in High School"

The little guy, the shrimp chip to us pigs, the title holder of the gay game, Lewins Ortiz aka "Lou from the U".   That's when I first saw Mr. Ortiz, walking towards us at the courts and I was a little puzzled.  From a far, he looked like a little kid, like a younger brother.  At first I thought it was Jay's little brother but as he got closer, well, he still looks like a little kid and to his left (what the fu**), it's my cousin Maria!  It's a freakin' family reunion, all that's missing was my other 2 cousins who the other 2 CMB guys was inquiring about.   Lou was cool, LOUD but cool, especially when he knew I was the cousin/little brother and that's when he was on my ASS literary licking the shit off my ass crack.  Both Jay and Lou invited me to play football @ the same school where I got to See……..

"Little Miss Sunshine", Marvy Marv and "The Leader" (sorry Mike) aka Prince Justin"

The quarterback, the man running the show, the man that COULD NOT throw a damn football!  In my head I was thinking, who the hell is this dude trying to run shit on the field and making up plays but ran with the football anyways, it didn't make sense.  I didn't realize 2yrs later it was Justin Evangelista!  The Leader!  It sounded funny then and it sounds hella funny now!  I don't think he noticed me, he knew what I was about and why I was there but there was a game to be played.  We got our ass kicked but the one question everyone was asking, who was that KID?  "Who", Justin replied.  The KID that ran through us, caught a touchdown and intercepted a ball, who is he?  Aris Flores from Nabotas Philippines !  Prince Justin was on my jock after, enough to invite me over to Marv's house after the game.  I didn't see Marvin until after the game on our way to his house.  I think he was the cheerleader or the team's mascot, whatever the reason, I think He was too scared to play tackle football. Man, you get invited to a house thinking it's cool, you feel welcomed and that saying, "my house is your house".  Well, that shit doesn't apply to Marv cuz we were only given drinks but food was a different story.  We had to order Pizza Hut with our own money if we were to eat.  I don't blame Marvy Marv, I'd do the same if I had these guys coming over to the house 5 times a week to play ball in his back yard or just to watch basketball on TV.  Back in the days, Marv would invite me to his room while everyone fell asleep in the living room after playing basketball.  It sounded gay and Marv is straight gay for asking but when I took the chance to check out what was so important to see his room….SOUND OF MUSIC or ASIAN HEAT, it was cool but it something I'd like to do by myself Marv.  I was never told this but I believe watching porn with Marv was the initiation to the……

"Cash Money Bambaraws aka CMB"

A little history, I might add, to the list of Gangs I've been a part of.  List consist of Islanders, PTC (Pu Tang Clan), GC ( Glen Cove ) and yes, CMB!  Mind you it was not a gang that was violent, more like folks you hung out with.  GC was the crew I played sports with from Jr. High to High School.  Yes, I was a grade lower because of the transfer from PI to US and NO, I was not older than Justin!  The only 25yr old that never graduated from High School!  I still think calling ourselves, "CMB" is fucking hilarious but I guarantee you  that you will never meet a group of 6 members that have been tight for more than 20yrs plus and will continue to stay close even after our kids have kids and so on….    Therefore, CMB are a bunch of FAGGOTS, bunch of Fat Asses and a bunch of Softies but they are the brothers anyone would love to have, even this fucker…..

"Another power forward, he's too soft"

It was Justin's way to motivate me to play better @ the power forward position.  I heard about Mike and how we were going to check out a game in North Hills.  I didn't realize it was to check out the power forward who will be coming off the bench for the REBELS because they already had #34 running that spot.  After the game, which Pinlac only scored 3pts, we met up with him to say, "wassup".  We had practices at Marv's house, we played a game here and there where Mike came off the bench but what he didn't realize that he was not meant to play the power forward position because he was too soft.  Thus is the reason why he is our "Love Child", he's physically soft, he's mentally soft and oh yeah, 12 yrs later, he's literally soft.  Mr. Sensitivity was cool and I never did apologize for pushing him towards the pole when we played one on one.  Winner:  #34

"Year 2030"

Still going strong and still meeting up on Thursday Nights for the CMB SHOW.  Who would have thought but the topics are completely different.  The Spurs won 5 championships in a row, The 49ers moved to Los Angeles and The Giants still haven't won a World Series.  Tune in for Next Thursday 8/22/2030, we will talk about the leading causes of birth defects caused by Viagra!

This is CMB 5 aka Paree' aka Nabotas Philippines aka Immigration, PEACE!!!!
